When we decided we were ready for another FCR after 3 years if me working crazy hour and being on the road for weeks at a time, then the house flood and my leaving non-profit contracting to work on the repairs and renovations, I was reevaluating life and what I wanted from the next 25 years. I wanted my next dog to be my partner in providing support for people in various types of emotional trauma care. While we're learning a new sport (disc), we decided to take this month to let Suzie do her #1 job... Therapy Dog.
We have been with people of all ages in cancer hospitals, care groups, colleges for finals, inpatient rehab, mental health recovery, and stopping for people to chat with her at stores and parks. It's a gift to see the joy she brings to everyone and how they keep requesting SuzieQ. She is everything I wanted and more. So much more.
A week from today we are back in Rally, Conformation, FastCAT, and Agility for Memorial Weekend Madness.
